Adult Choir

St. John’s Choir consists of adults who help lead worship each week at the 11 am service. The psalms, hymns, anthems and motets are the basis of this choir’s work and this choir is the backbone of the music program. St John’s choir meets on Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:30 in the parish house music room and again each Sunday morning in the sanctuary choir loft.

In addition to the weekly services, the St. John’s choir is responsible for music leadership for special services in Advent, Lent and Holy Week. They offer Choral Evensong services on All Saints Sunday and Palm Sunday afternoon and concerts of major choral works during the season. Our September Kick Off Sunday features the Tom Cats Dixieland Band getting our season off to a lively start.

Although the choir maintains a high level of musical ability and commitment, all adult singers are welcome to join us. To join this joyful group please contact the choir master (Deborah Carr) at gro.notpmahsnhojts@cisum.

Handbell Choir

St. John’s Handbell Choir is an adult group of handbell ringers offering special music for our worship services with hymn descants, processionals and special handbell anthems. The group is open to youth and interested adults. The handbell choir meets on Wednesday evenings 6:00-7:00 in the parish house during the major festival season of the church year.
