Weekly Announcements, September 6, 2020

September 4, 2020

New Schedule: On September 6, we will have one outdoor service (weather permitting) at 6pm.  This will be our last Sunday with a pre-recorded service. On September 13, we will return to a service at 9:15am in the church and maintain the 6pm outdoor service. The 9:15am service will be live streamed and posted online. We are looking at bringing communion back in the near future and will keep you informed!

Prayers for our Nation: Paul calls us to persevere in prayer and we are desperately in need of perseverance right now! We currently have compline available on Facebook live every night at 9pm.  However, people can pray anywhere and everywhere.  We don’t need a computer to do it.  A St. John’s parishioner asked that we suggest praying for our nation every day at noon.  You can do this anywhere with any words that you choose. The idea is that we know somewhere, other members of St. John’s are praying for our country.  While you can pray in any way that you would like, the Book of Common Prayer is a treasure trove of prayers.  Therefore, we will be providing a different one every week.  Here is this week’s:  Heavenly Father, in your Word you have given us a vision of that holy City to which the nations of the world bring their glory: Behold and visit, we pray, the cities of the earth. Renew the ties of mutual regard which form our civic life. Send us honest and able leaders. Enable us to eliminate poverty, prejudice, and oppression, that peace may prevail with righteousness, and justice with order, and that men and women from different cultures and with differing talents may find with one another the fulfillment of their humanity; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.  Page 825 of The Book of Common Prayer

If you have an announcement or story that you would like to see in the newsletter, please email it to gro.notpmahsnhojts@snoitacinummoc by Monday, September 7.
