The parish hall was decorated in a festive Mardi Gras flavor, the Men’s Group was working hard preparing pancakes in the kitchen, and all who gathered wore beads and masks, while they dined on pancakes for Shrove Tuesday.
This was an event where young and young-at-heart came together to celebrate this feast. The youth decorated the ‘Alleluia’ banner and had pancake races. During the feast, music was enjoyed by all from the sounds of the Youth Bell Choir, who performed on the stage.
After dinner, a liturgy took place in the church yard where the palms from last year were burnt to make ashes for Ash Wednesday. Special thanks to the Men’s Group, Deborah Carr and the Youth Bell Choir, and all those who attended. It was a great turn out and lots of fun!
