The Renovation Committee met on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Michael Surveying and Mapping is currently in the process of surveying the boundaries of the entire church property. Two trees will be removed in the cemetery – the large poplar in the middle of the cemetery and the magnolia next to the Hoffman House.
To continue with renovation momentum, Stage 2 is being refined. The plan includes the complete renovation of the 1901 tower (including new HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems) and construction of the north addition currently designed to accommodate the utility upgrades. Q Design was asked to explore opportunities for providing a unisex toilet room on the first floor of the church, possibly in the proposed north addition. They met with city officials and were given options to the current design plan that will require code modifications. The Committee approved Q Design to move forward with a design work plan for the unisex toilet and optimizing the placement of electrical panels within that design.
