Cornerstone: The Renovation Moves Along, Fall 2013

The sacristy window, set in the brick wall

The months of August and September saw the Renovation really get started in the church. Demolition of old but keeping much of the old, making way for the new. Currently the work is focused in the Sacristy and its three floors. Walls and floors have been removed for installation of new pipes (water & sewer), new heating vents, and new electrical lines. The new addition for mechanical and electrical equipment has a foundation near the handicapped ramp.

The organ is currently wrapped to prevent dust from getting into it and causing damage, so it will not be used for the next several weeks. The AC unit has been turned off as of October 1st so we can bid the old air conditioning unit a sad and glad farewell – SAD that it will not provide the church with cooling and GLAD that we won’t have to endure the loud noises it made when it came on.
