The Renovation Committee met on Tuesday, May 25th with 10 members and two guests present. The masonry contract was discussed and will be forwarded on to the vestry for approval. It will then be sent to the Mary Williams Trustees. The work will include replacing brickwork at the bottom of the two large round windows on the North and South walls and repointing, reinstalling bricks underneath the window in the West vestibule where a new sill was built.
Concerns have been expressed about the status of the organ during the renovation in 2011 so contact was made with Ric Parsons, President of Parsons Pipe Organ Builders. He has recommended that prior to construction the pipes be removed and stored and then covering the organ and mechanisms in place. Once we have finished the renovation, they will return to clean and reinstall pipes and retune/regulate the organ.
We welcome two new members of the committee, Billie Einselen and Jay Hogg.
