A lovely old stained glass window panel now hangs in the library section of our Parish Hall stage. This old window was discovered in the Heritage Room with no indication of its history. Gene Higgins of Epiphany Studios, who cleaned and restored our church windows prior to our 400th Celebration, determined that based on size, age, and style, the window once hung in the church building. Mr. Higgins beautifully restored and repaired the window and hung it in this new location.
“The stained glass panels were from the late 19th century and were releaded to the original state in 2015. The cathedral glass used in the stained glass panels are of hand blown glass. All of the original glass was used in the restoration process with the exception of replacing three pieces of shattered red cathedral glass in the borders. One piece of the light green field glass was edge glued with a clear epoxy to keep the original design. The wood sash frame is original to the panels as well.” (Gene Higgins)
The Heritage Committee appreciates Mr. Higgins’ excellent and caring work and invites everyone to make a visit to the stage to see this delightful addition.
