On the south wall of the nave of the church is a lovely wooden plaque which honors those parishioners who served in the first World War. It was unveiled on Sunday, December 26, 1920, and referred to as an “Honor Roll.” Recently it was noticed that the right arm of the cross at the top of the plaque was missing, and it appeared that the cross itself had shifted a bit.
The Heritage Committee arranged for Campostella Builders and Supply Company of Norfolk to make the needed repair. They did a fantastic job of restoring the plaque to its original condition. We are grateful to them for the time, care, and meticulous attention to detail that they put into this endeavor.
