A Special Vestry Meeting of St. John’s Church met Tuesday evening, May 15, at 7 P.M. in the Parish House for the purpose of discussing the selection of a new rector. Attending were members of the vestry for 2000-2001 and 2001-2002, as the group had decided at the regular vestry meeting to confer jointly on the selection.
The study session consisted of a review of the Parish Profile prepared by the Search Committee, with special emphasis on the Mission and Goals (page 20), the Expectations (p.21) and the Qualities desired in a candidate (p. 25). After the review, the group focused on the Four Questions asked each candidate and the responses of the nominee.
After much discussion, it was decided that the process of selecting a rector should proceed as hastily as possible. The next meeting for a final discussion was set for Monday evening, May 21, 2001, at 7 P.M. in the Parish House. A tentative date for an interview with the candidate and his wife was set for Saturday morning, June 2, 2001, in the Parish House.
The meeting concluded at 9:04 P.M.
Respectfully submitted, Billie Paxton Einselen, Registrar pro tem for Nelson Durden
