January 7, 2015 Special called meeting
The vestry of St. John’s Episcopal Church Elizabeth City Parish was called to order by senior Warden Charlie Edmonson. The purpose of this meeting is to approve or not approve the budget for the year
Treasurer Linda Curtis reported there is, as of this date, pledges totaling $300,551.00, this amount is approximately $15,000.00 more than the pledges for 2014.
The budget reflects a 1 ½ % increase in salaries for the staff who have been employed for two years or more.
Linda reported that more money was received for the 2014 budget than had been expected.
Dan Clark made a motion to accept the Budget as presented, motion was seconded by Vestal Lewis. The motion passed.
Discussion held on the appropriation of first Sunday plate offering to be split equally between the discretionary fund and the repayment of the non paid pledge amount owed to the Diocese of Southern Virginia. All were in agreement to split the plate offering of the first Sunday.
Dan Clark is going to step down from the office of Junior Warden for the year 2015.
Maintenance project presented at the November meeting is on hold. The Endowment Board is in need of making some changes. Larry Cumming a lawyer will be going through all documents to find what is necessary to retain a better understanding of the efficiency of the Endowment Board.
Dan Clark motioned to adjourn the meeting second by Sylvia Edgar. Meeting was adjourned at 1pm
