June 17, 2025 The Vestry of St. John’s Church, Elizabeth City Parish, was called to order on June 17, 2025, at 6:32 p.m. by Rev. Lisa Erdeljon. Present were Darden Barrett – Senior Warden, Ellen Griffith – Registrar, Bob Harper, Anne Rutherford, Andrew Mackey, Ron Kindley, Brad Norris, Rev Lisa Erdeljon, and Linda Curtis – Treasurer. Bettyrene Pope – Junior Warden & Scott Curtis were absent. Ryan Missel, Deborah Carr, and Liss Villanueva were also in attendance. The meeting opened at 6:32 p.m. with a prayer. Ascertainment of Quorum: A quorum was present. Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Bob Harper to approve the minutes from the May 20 meeting as amended. Seconded by Ron Kindley. The motion was approved unanimously. Approval of Agenda: A motion was made by Bob Harper to approve the agenda as written. Seconded by Ron Kindley. The motion was approved unanimously. Treasurer’s Report, Linda Curtis: Year-to-date income is lagging behind year-to-date expenses because we have not received the Endowment contribution, nor have funds been moved from the Hoffman House.Endowment contribution should be made soon. Hoffman House transfer will be done this month. Non-Pledge income is almost double what was budgeted this year. The plate is running about $1,000 over budget. May paid 2 months of Rector’s pension due to timing, Storm Water fee for first half of 2025 was paid. A motion was made by Bob Harper to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Seconded by Ron Kindley. Sept 7 – Kick-off Sunday Sept 28 – Bishop will visit (Tentative) Oct 5 – Pledging Season begins A new endowment has been given in memory of Molly and Nelson Durden, this will create an Endowment for Children’s Ministry.
A motion was made by Ron Kindley to appropriate a portion of Ryan Missel’s salary for a housing allowance . Seconded by Ellen Griffith. The motion was approved unanimously.
A motion was made by Darden Barrett to go into a closed session for the Mutual Ministry Review . Seconded by Bob Harper. The motion was approved unanimously. Closed session began at 6:37.
