Come & Worship
Worship at St. John’s
“O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.”— Psalm 95:1
Service Schedule
We gather Sunday for prayer, Word, and Sacrament. Both services are Holy Eucharist and last about an hour. We use Rite II, in contemporary language, and Rite I, in traditional language, in Advent and Lent.
Sunday 9 a.m.
Holy Eucharist
Our 9 a.m. service follows the rubrics in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, without the choir.
Celebrated at the Lower AltarSunday 11 a.m.
Holy Eucharist
The same Eucharist, with anthems sung by our choir. This service is livestreamed, and coffee hour usually follows in the Parish Hall.
Livestreamed weeklyOur Worship Life
The Book of Common Prayer
Our worship is rooted in the Prayer Book tradition — a rhythm of scripture, prayer, and sacrament that has sustained the faithful for centuries.
Sacred Music
From Renaissance polyphony to beloved hymns, our music program enriches every service. Our Parsons organ — installed in the west gallery in 1993 and now being remanufactured — anchors a tradition of musical excellence.
Holy Communion
The Eucharist is the center of our common life. All baptized Christians are welcome at the Lord’s Table — no exceptions.
Livestream
Can’t join us in person? Our 11 a.m. Sunday service is livestreamed each week on YouTube so you can worship from wherever you are.

The Liturgical Year
Seasonal & Holy Day Services
The rhythm of the church year — from Advent’s anticipation through Easter’s alleluias — shapes our worship and draws us deeper into the story of God’s love.
Ash Wednesday
Holy Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes, offered at midday and again in the evening
Holy Week
Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday with the stripping of the altar, the Good Friday liturgy at noon, and the Great Vigil of Easter
Easter
Festal Holy Eucharist at 9 & 11 a.m., with lilies and the return of the Alleluia.
Instructed Eucharist
Once a year the liturgy is explained as it happens, why we do what we do, motion by motion.
St. Francis Pet Blessing
Every year on October 4, the Feast of St. Francis, at 6 p.m. in the churchyard. Bring your animals for a special blessing!
Christmas Eve
Family Service at 5 p.m. with the children’s Pageant, and the Traditional Candlelight Service at 10 p.m.
Christmas Day
A casual Holy Eucharist at 9 a.m.
