The Christian Formation Classes are a great place for our parishioners and newcomers to gather on Sunday morning. As each class community gathers, you will experience a deeper understanding of your own faith, fellowship with one another, and a caring place to express your views and questions. Christian Formation classes are also a wonderful place to make friends and deepen existing relationships within the parish. Please review the list below to identify your class and its location. If you need additional information or have questions, please see or call Harper Lewis, Director of Youth Ministry and Christian Education, or The Rev. Donna-Mae Siderius at 722-2567.
Birth - age 2, first floor, Sunday School wing
The Nursery is a child’s first experience of the Church. Our caregivers are screened and trained to provide a safe, happy, and nurturing environment for our youngest members.
Age 3 - Kindergarten, upstairs, Sunday School wing
The Atrium is for our preschoolers and kindergarteners and uses the methods of the Godly Play. It was developed by an Episcopal priest, Jerome W. Berryman, and incorporates the Montessori methods of education. Godly Play helps our children to become more fully aware of God’s presence in their lives through the use of religious words, scared stories, silence, and liturgical practices through hands-on materials.
Grades 1 - 3, upstairs, Sunday School wing
The primary class will use the All Things New, which emphasizes Bible stories and scripture, Episcopal liturgy and Episcopal tradition. Children in elementary grades will participate in a variety of learning experiences both fun and serious – to help them continue to grow in faith and love.
Grades 4 - 5, upstairs, Sunday School wing
The intermediate class will use the Episcopal Children’s Curriculum, which emphasizes Bible stories and scripture, Episcopal liturgy and Episcopal tradition. Children in elementary grades will participate in a variety of learning experiences both fun and serious – to help them continue to grow in faith and love
Ages 3 -7, upstairs, Sunday School wing
Children’s Chapel is a special worship experience for children ages three to seven, during the Liturgy of the Word which is the first part of the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist. In Children’s Chapel, the children worship through song, story, movement, and art. They then join their families in church at the Peace for Communion
