Vacation Bible School 2008

Ages 3- 5th grade

Guess what's swinging up ahead? Rainforest Adventure VBS! Mark your calendars now for an exciting week - Monday, July 7th - Friday, July 11th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Our VBS is open to children age 3 to fifth grade. We will create a vibrant rainforest canopy, and children will lean that everyone can do their part to care for God's creation. We will listen to great stories about Jesus, ake cool crafts, sing fun songs, play zany games and make a jungle of friends. Resgistration will begin on Youth Sunday, May 4th.

There will be a special presentation during the 10:00 a.m. service on Sunday, July 13th.

Childcare provided for ages 0 – 2.

TEENS (RISING 6TH - 12TH GRADERS) AND ADULTS are needed to volunteer the week of Monday, July 7th – Friday, July 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to help with all aspects of Vacation Bible School.

Pickup: at K-Mart on Victory Blvd. at 4:45 a.m. (bus leaves at 5:00 a.m.) Arrival at Massanutten between 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

Lunch and dinner on your own.

Departure: Be at bus at 4:30 p.m. for 5:00 p.m. (Eat before you board! No dinner stop) Return to K-Mart on Victory Blvd. between 8:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Final payment due by Sunday, January 31, 2010. $109.00 skiing or snow boarding, rentals, lift ticket, and lessons included. Tubing $22.00 plus bus ride $55.00. Scholarship money is available upon request contact Harper Lewis. Suggested amount of spending money $20.00 (lunch and dinner).

Christian Education

for Children, Youth and Adults

Christian Education at St. John’s is an integral part of our parish life. Our children, youth, and adults develop a relationship with God and learn about our faith within the Christian Community. We strive to present loving and joyful learning environments which offer a variety of developmentally-appropriate experiences. One may begin their study of the Christian faith at age three and continue their education through their lifetime. This program allows each participant to explore the great stories of the Bible and how these lessons may be applied to everyday life. Classes focus on the Old and New Testaments, the seasons of the Church Year, while incorporating the study of the Sacraments, the Book of Common Prayer, church history, and tradition. Christian Education Classes are held on Sunday morning, from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
